A flair for
the exeptional

Giovanni Melis

In 1998, at the age of only 24, Giovanni Melis was awarded “Best Young Chef of the Year, Germany”. He has opened Italian restaurants all over the world for the renowned Kempinski hotel chain. Melis spent three years as a private chef for Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and has participated in both the Swiss and Italian versions of the TV show Kochduell. He was also the head chef for the Italian national football team. If that weren’t enough, the consumer guide Consumo launched its own cooking series with Giovanni in 2019, with the title “Cook it like Gio”. He has already opened five-star hotels in Sardinia and Switzerland and worked as a restaurateur in Zurich from 2017 to 2021.

Now Giovanni Melis is writing the new chapter of La Colombe Boutique Hotel in Zug with his partner, Aline Sigrist.

Aline Sigrist

Born in Zug, Aline Sigrist discovered her passion for the hotel industry at the age of 20. Fascinated by the international feel
and lively atmosphere in the halls of the grand hotels, she studied hospitality management at the acclaimed SHL Swiss Hotel Manage- ment School in Lucerne from 2005 to 2009. Her aim was clear: to run a small but exquisite hotel one day. Her journey took her from Geneva to St. Tropez, Miami and back to Zug. From 2016 to 2022,
Aline Sigrist looked after the international clientele of a large corporation in Zug as
a Customer Relations and Event Manager.

The qualified hotelier has extensive experience in the luxury hotel industry, and La Colombe Boutique Hotel is a long-awaited dream come true for her.
